SEASON 30 Summer break Summer break
Schedule
MANUAL 7. Procedure and time
Back to the table of contents
All sequences are based on real football.
The timeline is a fast motion representation of the real football world
It applies:
1 real day = 1 ONLINELEAGUE.co.uk week.

TIME OF A SEASON
A virtual ONLINELEAGUE.co.uk week lasts one day in real time. Or to put it another way: Every day an ONLINELEAGUE.co.uk week passes.
So every team manager plans and controls all matters of his team for a virtual ONLINELEAGUE.co.uk week on a daily basis. This includes training, league match, friendly match, etc.
Each day there is a matchday. This applies to all leagues. Start and end are the same for all leagues, so the matchdays always run in parallel.
After matchday 17, it's half-time in all leagues and a winter break takes place.
This lasts 3 virtual ONLINELEAGUE.co.uk weeks, so 3 real days. In this time is
the transfer window is open
No league matches will take place. Friendlies and training can, however
be conducted
After the 34th matchday, the season ends, in all leagues. It follows a 7-days summer break (7 virtual ONLINELEAGUE.co.uk weeks). During this time the transfer window is open again. Friendly matches and training can be held.
In leagues where play-off matches for promotion are played, they start right at the beginning of the summer break. Depending on the number of teams, there will be one or two play-off rounds. One play-off round will be played per day (1 virtual ONLINELEAGUE.co.uk week). The order of the play-off matches is as follows:
Play-off Matchday 1 (these matches will be played in parallel, i.e. on the same matchday)
  • Promotion from League 2 to League 1
  • Promotion from League 3 to League 2
  • Promotion from League 4 to League 3: 1st round
Play-off Matchday 2
  • Promotion from League 4 to League 3: 2nd round
Play-off matchday 3
  • Promotion from League 5 to League 4: 1st round
Play-off matchday 4
  • Promotion from League 5 to League 4: 2nd round
Play-off matchday 5
  • Promotion from League 6 to League 5: 1st round
Play-off matchday 6
  • Promotion from League 6 to League 5: 2nd round

So each play-off takes 0-2 weeks. Depending on whether there are:
No play-offs
1 play-off round
2 play-off rounds

For all play-off matchdays:
Each play-off matchday will only take place if it is needed. If, for example, there are only 4 promoted teams from league 2 into the 1st ONLINELEAGUE, then there are no play-off matches here. If a play-off round is completely cancelled, because e.g. the 2nd round in play-off matchday 4 is not necessary, the following play-off matchdays are cancelled and the whole play-off rounds are shortened by one day.
The next play-offs starts directly after the previous one.

An example:
The play-off matchdays 1-3 are played. Every (real) day there is one round. This corresponds to 3 (virtual) weeks in ONLINELEAGUE.co.uk. The play-off matchday 4 is not necessary, because there is no 5th ONLINELEAGUE in which the 2nd round has to be played. So in the 4th week the play-off matchday 5 will be played (promotion from league 6 to league: 1st round). This will be followed by the 6th play-off matchday in the 5th week.
So in this example, the qualifying rounds last 5 (virtual) weeks = 5 real days.
Player transfers take place exclusively during the winter and summer breaks. Negotiations and contracts can take place at any time. However, the actual transfer will only take place in one of these two time frames.

The exceptions here are free agents or youth players. These can be signed immediately at any time.

CURRENT MATCHDAY

The current matchday, or week, is always displayed at the top of the header.

All settings and current training, refer to this current matchday which will be concluded at night (from 4 o'clock) with calculation of matchday games.

Players' market values are recalculated every 3 matchdays. With the exception of the 16th and the 33rd matchday. Here the update will be moved to the 17th and the 34th matchday. So the calculations will be done at the following times:

4th matchday
7th matchday
10th matchday
13th matchday
17th matchday
21st matchday
24th matchday
27th matchday
30th matchday
34th matchday
Player skill development is updated after each game and after each training. So the data shown is real time data and always up to date.
SCHEDULE
The timetable shows the detailed schedule of the next 44 days (real time), that is, the following 44 ONLINELEAGUE weeks.
It can be called up via the sub-item in the section „Matchday / Table“, or by clicking on the timetable button, which appears as soon as you click on the current season / week / matchday display in the header, or move the mouse there.

To avoid any inactive teams on ONLINELEAGUE.co.uk and to prevent any distortion of competition, all teams that do not meet the following requirements after the 34th matchday will be excluded from the game at the end of the season:
  • At least 14 players in the squad
  • At least 1 skilled goalkeeper in the squad
Each affected team manager will be informed already from the winter break that his team will be deactivated if his team does not meet this requirement anymore. Thereby it is already taken into account which players will leave the team for the next season, which contracts will expire and have not been renewed yet, which players will end their career and which players have already been signed for the new season. Thus, an accurate preview is created for the squad of the next season.
Each team manager who is informed that his team will be deactivated for the next season has the following options to continue his team beyond the current season:
  • Extend player contracts.
  • Commit players from youth or from the transfer market.
The measures must result in the team meeting the specified criteria during the summer break.
An alternative way to avoid being deactivated:
  • In the Office -> Settings section, the team manager can set the following via an option button:

In this case, the team remains, even if the squad contains less than 14 players.

Each team manager will be informed via messenger and email of the impending deactivation. This will be done at the earliest during the winter break and shortly before the end of the season. Each team manager has enough time to avoid the deactivation.
